Purpose:
As a Welder you will be responsible for welding, positioning, aligning and fitting miscellaneous steel components according to technical drawings and blueprints, ensuring that they meet design specifications and quality standards.
Required Knowledge, Skill, Abilities, and Competencies
Basic Metalworking Skills:
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and basic metalworking machinery.
Knowledge of shop machines and sand tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Basic understanding of fabrication processes such as cutting, grinding, and drilling.
Welder 1:
Proficient in welding flux core and/or hard wire
Knowledge of basic weld symbols
Basic knowledge of drawings
Knowledge of welding equipment and their settings
Welder 2:
D1.1 certified flux core and hard wire
Advanced knowledge of weld symbols
Able to troubleshoot welding equipment and perform minor repairs
Correct unsatisfactory welds
Welder 3:
Ability to train lower level welders
Quality check welds
Ability to weld multiple material types
Basic fitting skills
Knowledge and understanding of heat affected area and it’s reaction to base metal
Identify and perform corrective actions
Ability to interpret and understand blueprints and drawings
