About the Team The Seller Planning Strategic Initiatives team sits at the intersection of analytics, product strategy, and marketplace operations. We partner across Walmart’s ecosystem to design and deliver scalable solutions that enhance how sellers list, sell, and service large and complex products — such as major appliances and other big and bulky items requiring scheduled delivery, installation, and service.

What You’ll Do As the Manager, Seller Planning Strategic Initiatives, you will be the analytical and strategic backbone driving Walmart’s most complex seller and service‑focused programs. You’ll blend analytics, business acumen, and cross‑functional collaboration to measure performance, identify opportunities, and influence key strategic decisions. This role requires a solutions‑oriented, entrepreneurial mindset—someone who thrives in ambiguity, embraces an ever‑moving goalpost, and approaches challenges with creative problem‑solving and persistence to deliver innovative outcomes in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Analytics & Reporting: develop and maintain dashboards and performance reports that measure conversion, delivery satisfaction, seller engagement, and service adoption.

Identify emerging trends, opportunities, and risks through advanced data analysis.

Present insights and data‑driven recommendations to leadership to shape business priorities.

Drive Data‑Informed Strategy: support the design and execution of large‑scale, cross‑functional initiatives that enhance seller and customer experiences.

Translate data insights into actionable business strategies and operational improvements.

Embed analytics into every stage of program delivery—from concept to measurement and optimization.

Partner Across Product & Operations: collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to inform tool design and feature prioritization for scheduling, service, and fulfillment capabilities.

Work with internal and external teams to ensure that service models and operations are scalable, measurable, and continuously optimized.

Enable Seller & Partner Performance: build scorecards and dashboards to track partner performance, including delivery providers, service networks, and third‑party sellers.

Evaluate and recommend new partners or brands based on analytical assessments of capacity, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Influence Cross‑Functional Alignment: serve as a bridge between Analytics, Product, Operations, and Finance, ensuring unified metrics and shared understanding of performance.

Translate complex technical data into clear, business‑focused insights for non‑technical audiences.

Support Planning & Forecasting Models: collaborate with Finance and Strategy to create predictive models and forecasts for major initiatives.

Assess program ROI, profitability, and efficiency to guide investment and resource planning.

Who We’re Looking For Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Economics, Supply Chain, or related field (MBA or advanced analytics degree preferred).

5–8 years of experience in analytics, e‑commerce strategy, or program management.

Demonstrated expertise with analytical and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, and Excel (Python or R a plus).

Proven ability to analyze complex data, identify insights, and communicate them clearly to influence senior stakeholders.

Strong cross‑functional collaboration skills, with experience working across Product, Engineering, Operations, and Finance.

Excellent written and verbal communication, with a talent for translating data into clear narratives and strategic recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with marketplace or seller ecosystem analytics.

Background in large‑scale retail, logistics, or delivery services programs.

Ability to lead through ambiguity and drive alignment in complex, matrixed environments.

Track record of designing and scaling analytics frameworks that directly inform strategic and operational decision‑making.

Locations & Compensation Bentonville, Arkansas – $70,000.00 – $130,000.00 (annual salary range)

San Bruno, California – $91,000.00 – $169,000.00 (annual salary range)

Hoboken, New Jersey – $84,000.00 – $156,000.00 (annual salary range). Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and may include stock.
