Overview
Manages a variety of general office activities by performing the following duties personally or through the assistance of others. Essential Functions
Organize office operations and procedures such as accounting, payroll, information management, filing systems, requisition of supplies and company assets, and other clerical services. Manage, lead, and develop all office employees. Interview and train new employees through training, then plan, assign, and direct work. Direct supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and procedures. Answer and forward incoming telephone calls. Month End Tasks:
Complete inventory reconciliation, margin calculation, and perform pricing changes. Run month end billing and complete medicine inventory reconciliation. Post journal entry accruals.
Scan in deposits. Oversee office productivity through proficient use of appropriate software applications. Formulate and maintain procedures for retention, protection, retrieval, transfer, and disposal of records. Assist Feed Yard Manager and Department Managers in developing annual budgets. Communicate with customers and outside vendors. Understand and ensure compliance with Cobalt Cattle Company HR policies and procedures. Provide needed support to management team. Perform new hire HR orientation for new Cobalt Cattle Company employees under the direction of the Cobalt Cattle Company HR Department. Evaluate personnel job performance, reward and discipline employees, address complaints, and resolve problems. Monitor daily implementation of activities, projects, policies, and procedures; notice errors and gaps; keep detailed and accurate records; process paperwork promptly and follow up on important details. Provide consistent, clear work direction relative to current priorities; delegate and assign work based on employee skill, experience, and development needs; monitor work progress against goals; manage conflicting requirements; remove obstacles; instill a sense of urgency relative to task. Assist in weighing incoming and outgoing trucks carrying commodities during peak seasons. Assist with the office duties of other office personnel when they are not present. Comply with all OSHA/Safety procedures, rules, and regulations. Complete paperwork and update Turnkey with harvest commodity quantities and costs. Manage seasonal harvest employees. Other duties as assigned. Competencies
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to perform basic math functions and calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Knowledge of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software, Accounting software and Internet software. Bi‑lingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus. Display consistent skills, behaviors, and attitudes congruent with the values and strategies of Cobalt Cattle Company; model high performing level of motivation, performance, and personal integrity that others strive to emulate; match actions and words. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Physical Demands
Regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Frequently required to talk or hear. Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to ten pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Travel Required
Minimal travel for occasional training and/or meetings. Required Education and Experience
College degree, or 5 years industry experience and a complete knowledge of the cattle feeding industry. Previous supervisory experience. Competitive Compensation and Benefits
