DESCRIPTION Theatre Arts Program Director
Hunterdon Academy of the Arts is the largest performing arts after‑school program in New Jersey’s Hunterdon County. The six‑time winner of the Hunterdon Happening Competition (“Best Music School” Award), HAA is located in Flemington, offering in‑person as well as online music and theatre arts (Acting‑Singing‑Dance) instruction. Catering to students ages 4 to 17, our Theatre Arts programs focus on teaching fundamental skills as well as stage productions.
At this point, we are seeking to hire a Director to oversee our Theatre Arts Program.
Responsibilities
Implement the school’s theatre arts core curriculum (programs for students ages 4 to 17)
Teach Musical Theatre Production Classes and Directing Shows
Teach Theatre Arts core curriculum and related classes
Theatre Arts Faculty Supervision and Mentoring in close consultation with company owners.
Quality control in the classroom
Parent Communications
Logistics of Shows, including licensing; selection of suitable Musicals and Plays; ordering costumes, props, sets, and backdrops.
Scheduling of Classes and Performances, including in‑class demonstrations as applicable
Required Qualifications
Candidates must have earned an undergraduate or graduate degree in Musical Theatre, Theater, Acting, or Drama Education.
Must have experience in teaching theater classes and directing musical theatre productions.
Additional strong credentials in teaching voice or a musical instrument are highly desirable.
Job Type: Part‑time (25 hours)
Compensation: hourly at $30 to $60/hour (admin vs. teaching)
