Join Our Team as a Locum Nurse Practitioner in Cardiothoracic Surgery Toledo, OH
Are you a dedicated Nurse Practitioner seeking a rewarding locum opportunity in a renowned medical center? What You Will Do:
- Provide comprehensive postoperative care, including suture removal, diagnosis and treatment of illnesses, and ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.
- Conduct pre-operative physical exams and coordinate patient care across inpatient and ICU settings.
- Collaborate with physicians who will be present for rounds and available 24/7 by phone.
- Work autonomously with a team dedicated to exceptional patient outcomes.
- Manage an average of 12 adult and geriatric patients daily, ensuring tailored care plans.
- Document seamlessly using EPIC EMR system.
- Participate in a Level I trauma setting with coverage at multiple Mercy locations.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Current Nurse Practitioner license in Ohio.
- Experience in surgery, ICU, or post-operative care preferred.
- Ability to work independently with strong clinical decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Comfort with suture removal, diagnosing and treating illnesses, and interpreting test results.
- Flexible availability to work 10 days per month including weekends.
Nice to Have:
- Previous experience in cardiothoracic or trauma settings.
- Bilingual abilities for diverse patient populations.
- Certification in Advanced Practice Nursing or related specialties.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Master's degree in Nursing (MSN or higher).
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Prior involvement in surgical or inpatient care settings.
Other Requirements:
- Travel and licensure reimbursement (hotel, flight, rental car) applicable.
- Credentialing expected within 60-90 days; process may be expedited.
- Ability to work the scheduled shifts (Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM 4:00 PM) with 10 days of call per month and a 1:3 call ratio.
