Mission:

The mission of Catholic Charities is to provide for the needs of our community through selfless service under the sign of love.

Position Responsibilities

Supervise, monitor and evaluate the educational activities of SABD in tandem with the Client Care Coordinator.

Provide direction and leadership for specific projects under the Program Director’s guidance and represent SABD within the community.

Prepare class curriculums, conduct online and in‑person classes, oversee client visits as needed, and perform administrative duties.

Train and support contracted educators and guest speakers.

Ensure classroom spaces and instructional materials are well‑maintained and kept in optimal condition.

Maintain a physical inventory of client education material and incentives; order necessary materials such as handouts, food, and other items.

Schedule all classes, keep the office calendar and client class platform up to date within two weeks of the scheduled class.

Teach, moderate, and audit classes during regular and non‑traditional hours.

Follow‑up with class attendees regarding class quality via a survey within two business days of the class.

Complete a formal review of every class outline/curriculum annually and verify that each curriculum is current and submitted for funding‑source approval.

Follow‑up with class‑only participants via phone call every 30 days with proper documentation to maintain program compliance.

Assist with daily operations such as restocking the boutique, intakes, scheduling, etc.

Complete annual training to become a certified counselor for online billing and adhere to guiding principles.

Assist with administrative duties such as adding class attendance into Charity Tracker and providing monthly attendance reports.

Assist other staff members with ongoing training, recruitment, or updates of agency policies for program staff, volunteers, interns, and contractors.

Assist the Program Director and Mission Advancement with special events.

Assist in annual training for contracted educators and guest speakers on program procedures including billing invoicing.

Protect confidentiality of all information or material obtained in service, including client names, services rendered, donor names, investigations, and financial information.

Adhere to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral requirements.

Be sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.

Other duties as assigned by Development Coordinator and Program Director to fulfill the goals and mission of San Antonio Birth Doulas and Catholic Charities.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred or 2 to 4 years related work experience.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in general office duties with at least one year supervising best practices for client identifying information as required by HIPAA and Texas Medical Records Act; prior supervisory experience preferred.

Familiarity with concepts and philosophies such as informed consent, reproductive justice, evidence‑based practice, and trauma‑informed practice.

License and Credentials: Reliable transportation, valid driver license and clean driving record, valid registration, valid vehicle insurance.

Certified Childbirth Educator preferred; Doula Training preferred or willing to be trained as a doula within 6 months of hire.

Minimum Knowledge And Skills

Minimum 2 years’ experience in social work, education, or related field.

Extensive working knowledge of childbirth, parenting, and child development.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Extensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010 or newer, including Word, Excel, Outlook, touch screens, and smart devices.

Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.

Detail oriented, organized, self‑motivated; able to work independently and on a team.

Good written and verbal skills; strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
