Library Media Specialist Salary Grade: Teacher's Salary Schedule. Tulsa Public Schools’ existing salary schedules provide career increment adjustments based on education/experience and/or years of creditable service. Position Summary: Provides instruction in and access to library information resources and programs for students, staff and the entire school community.

Education

Master of Library Science (MLS), Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS), Master of Librarianship degree or the equivalent from an accredited college-level library program (Preferred) or

Masters degree in any subject and at least one of the following:

Thirty (30) or more coursework hours related to library/media

Fifteen (15) or more coursework hours related to library/media and one (1) year of relevant work experience

Three (3) or more years of library/media related work experience and a letter from the district

Enrolled in a Library Media or School Librarian certification program or

Bachelors degree and enrolled in a Master of Library Science (MLS), Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS), Master of Librarianship, or the equivalent

Experience

Previous experience working in a library or media related organization

Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, Etc.

Possess or ability to obtain and maintain a valid Oklahoma Library Media Specialist certificate or waiver from OSDE

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Office Suite

Bilingual in Spanish preferred
