Description
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate, reliable inventory records across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods in a manufacturing environment. This role serves as the day-to-day steward of inventory integrity acting as a control point between supply chain, production, and quality, with authority to stop, correct, and escalate inventory issues that create financial loss, schedule risk, or quality exposure.
Responsibilities
Maintain high inventory accuracy across all stocking locations.
Execute and manage the cycle count program.
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
Enforce proper transaction discipline.
Identify process breakdowns that create inventory inaccuracies and work with supervisors to correct.
Audit receiving process, materials and location management and labeling.
Own physical-to-system alignment between ERP and actual inventory.
Support internal and external audits through inventory records, count data, and corrective actions.
Perform all functions of Material Handler I position.
Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.
Complete projects or any other functions as assigned by management
Requirements
2+ years of inventory control, preferable in a manufacturing environment
Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
Experience with cycle counting and root cause analysis
Comfortable working on the shop floor in an active manufacturing environment
Strong attention to detail with the ability to hold other accountable to process.
Experience operating a standard forklift (sit down, stand-up reach)
Exposure to quality systems (ISO, internal audits, corrective actions)
Advanced excel skills for data analysis and reporting
Demonstrates a team mentality
Good Time Management Skills
