Assistant Maintenance Director The Tradition Senior Living is a Texas-based Luxury Senior Living organization committed to excellence in all we do to serve our residents. Since our inception, we have expanded to multiple locations in the Dallas, Houston, and Fort Worth areas. Each community offers a comprehensive continuum of care that includes Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care.

We are currently seeking an

Assistant Maintenance Director

at our

Tradition‑Woodway

location. In this position, you will be responsible for performing minor repairs and preventative maintenance to assist in the physical plant operations of The Tradition. The Assistant Maintenance Director reports directly to our Maintenance Director who oversees day to day operations of the community's Maintenance department.

Required Qualifications

At least one year of maintenance experience in senior living, apartment or hotel environment or equivalent experience and education.

Knowledge of systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical including EPA Certification for Freon recovery.

Possesses strong basic handyman skills.

Possesses a basic understanding of fire and life safety codes.

Ability to operate power tools and equipment.

Ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English.

Ability to interact positively with others.

Possesses sound organizational and time management skills.

Possesses good judgment, problem solving and decision‑making skills.

Responsibilities

Prepare and keep accurate preventative and corrective maintenance logs.

Maintain property equipment in safe and working order.

Respond timely to resident, family or team member requests.

Work creatively with operations team to drive ancillary revenues.

Maintain a positive customer service environment for move‑ins.

Record keeping: inventory management, preventative and corrective maintenance schedules, logs, histories, etc.

Other duties as assigned by management.

Physical Requirements Requires frequent walking, standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending and reaching. Activity level is high.

Working Environment Clean, well‑ventilated, and lighted building. May work in cramped quarters. Possible hazards include cuts, falls, strains, bruises, and exposure to temperature changes. May be required to handle heavy objects and work in all types of weather conditions.

Personal Appearance and Hygiene High customer visibility and interaction requires professional presentation with clean, odor‑free, well‑kept appearance. Will wear approved uniform attire with comfortable shoes. Long hair should be secured away from face and shoulders.
