Reef Systems has an immediate need for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support the Air Force Medical Service (AFMS) mission at the Referral Management Center (RMC) located at JB Charleston, SC. This is a full-time, on-site position. Description of Services
Background:
The AFMS operates a worldwide healthcare system for over 2.63 million beneficiaries, including active duty, family members, and retirees. It provides comprehensive healthcare from forward deployed locations to definitive care, emphasizing prevention and coordinated referral management through the RMC, which ensures accurate referrals, tracks treatment, and maintains records. Scope:
Support staffing and management of RMCs at MTFs, providing referral services via telephonic, electronic, and in-person access, using multiple government information systems. Ensure referrals are processed accurately, timely, and according to AFI44-176, with patient education and coordination with clinical staff. Responsibilities
Operate and support RMC operations, process referrals, and provide patient education. Review and verify referral documentation, coordinate with providers, and schedule appointments. Track and retrieve referral results, ensure documentation accuracy, and generate reports. Advise patients on benefits, eligibility, and travel, and provide customer service support. Minimum Requirements
Valid, unrestricted nursing license, with at least 2 years of clinical experience within the last 3 years. Fluent in English, proficient in medical and computer skills, including relevant healthcare guidelines. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or Red Cross. Additional Requirements
Adherence to CDC and AFMS infection control guidelines, immunizations, TB testing, and ongoing training. On-site work at JB Charleston, SC, during MTF hours (7:30 AM - 4:30 PM, Mon-Fri), excluding federal holidays. Contractor personnel must comply with all health, safety, and training standards outlined in the statement.
