Corporate VC & Business Analytics Remote Externship
Overview
This is an exciting externship where students can experience first‑hand what it feels like to be part of a Fortune 100 company. As investors, venture capitalists (VCs) are investing in new ideas, innovations, and most importantly teams, where do they begin? This is called deal sourcing. Externs will profile startup companies, learn what VCs look for, and be a part of investing in the next generation of technology. HP Tech Ventures is seeking ambitious students to help research relevant pre‑seed stage startups for deal sourcing and evaluation. This project includes special data analytics projects that allow students to practice using analysis tools to perform business model, strategy, and value chain analysis.
Experience
Research startup metrics, industry data, team, and business models
Determine product differentiation and strategy across startups
Construct market maps across various startup sectors
Manage data using data cleaning methods and tools such as Open Refine
Calculate and analyze data using Excel and SQL to find summary values and trends
Present and correlate the data using data visualization techniques, including charts
Recommend attractive startups for further investment due diligence
Qualifications Ambitious students interested in pursuing careers in venture capital, entrepreneurship, and consulting.
NewYork‑Presbyterian Hospital Externships NewYork‑Presbyterian Hospital Externships are for nursing students currently enrolled in a BSN program. Externships give students a chance to increase their skill set and prepare for a career in nursing. Externs will work in one of the world’s largest academic medical centers. They will work with physicians, allied professionals and other nurses in an environment where they can exchange ideas and increase their medical knowledge. Positions are offered as a Nursing Attendant, Nursing Companion or Summer Nurse Externship. All are part‑time nursing positions for nursing students.
UCLA Health Nursing Summer Externship Program UCLA Health Nursing Summer Externship Program offers work experience to nursing students who have completed their junior year and are entering their senior year of nursing school. The externship is unpaid. Externships are offered during the summer and take place at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica, Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA, and The Stewart and Lynda Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital at UCLA. Applicants can choose two specialty areas for their externship. The externship is designed to help nursing students choose a career path in nursing.
Mayo Clinic Externships Mayo Clinic Externships are available to current college students as well as recent graduates who want an opportunity to gain more experience in a health care environment. Externships are offered within several different disciplines. Whether students are looking for experience in the field of medicine, providing software and technology support, or developing health and other programs for the clinic, they are sure to find an experience that will enrich their classroom learning.

St. John Medical Center Nurse Externship Program St. John Medical Center Nurse Externship Program is for nursing students who are just two semesters away from graduation. Senior‑level nursing students may apply. To be eligible, students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or above. They must also be able to work the required number of hours during the semester. The externship places nursing students in real work environments where they can apply their classroom learning in a hospital setting working with real patients.
Cornell Extern Program Cornell Extern Program is open to college sophomores, juniors, and seniors from all undergraduate colleges. It’s an opportunity for students to explore their career options while still in college. Winter externships are offered during January and February. Externships can last from one day to one week. Eligible students will find externships available in numerous career fields and geographic locations around the world. The externships do no include pay or college credit. Students will be responsible for all expenses, including travel and housing.
University of Michigan Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Externship University of Michigan Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Externship is offered to dental students who are pursuing careers in oral and maxillofacial surgery. The externship will expose students to various career options in the dentistry field. Students applying for the program must be in good academic standing. They must also have completed courses that have taught them basic oral and maxillofacial surgery. They must know how to administer local anesthesia and perform dental surgery of the teeth, soft tissue, and the jawbone, such as teeth extraction.
Christiana Care Health System Student Nurse Externships Christiana Care Health System Student Nurse Externships are offered to students enrolled in a nursing program and pursuing a career as a Registered Nurse. Students interested in applying must have completed at least one clinical rotation in an acute care setting. Student Nurse Externs work 16 hours bi‑weekly and must also be available to work different shifts, holidays and weekends if necessary. The work environment is casual and the work schedules are flexible so students can continue uninterrupted with their studies.

This is a program that is designed to prepare medical doctors for residency by providing the opportunity to have hands on experience up to twelve months. Our practice will introduce those selected to accompany Family Medicine physicians, and/or residents, on their rounds. A full introduction to the ever‑expanding geriatric care will include exposure to additional learning experiences in innovative procedures and practices in Assisted Living Facilities.
