XP Performance Lab is building a hub for serious baseball and softball families—combining batting cages, skills training, and quality instruction under one roof. We’re looking for coaches who can teach modern hitting and/or pitching while building confidence and love for the game.
The Baseball/Softball Skills Coach delivers hitting, pitching, and/or fielding instruction in the cages and on the turf. This role focuses on technical development, confidence, and game-readiness for players from youth through high school. You’ll run 1:1 and small-group lessons, help with clinics and camps, and keep the cage area organized, safe, and professional.
Responsibilities
Conduct 1:1 and small-group lessons focused on hitting, pitching, and/or fielding.
Build structured sessions, including warm-up, drill progressions, reps, and review.
Customize training routines to assist clients in achieving their fitness goals while staying within their current physical capabilities.
Ensure all programs are appropriate for each client by doing individualized fitness evaluations.
Communicate clear, simple cues appropriate to each age group and skill level.
Track progress (e.g., bat speed, exit velocity, command, velocity) and share updates with players and parents.
Help design and coach clinics, camps, and seasonal programs.
Maintain cage organization and safety (nets, balls, L-screens, tees, equipment).
Communicate professionally with families and work in sync with other coaches and staff.
Uphold all gym standards and safety rules to keep clients safe and comfortable.
Experience & Skills
College or high-level playing or coaching experience in baseball or softball.
Ability to break down mechanics into simple, actionable steps that kids can actually use.
Strong communication skills with both players and parents.
Comfortable working with youth, middle school, and high school athletes.
Available during prime training times (after school/evenings and weekends).
Have experience running camps or clinics.
Are familiar with tech like radar guns, HitTrax, Blast, Pocket Radar, Rapsodo, etc. (not required, but nice to have).
How We’ll Measure Success (Key Metrics)
Lesson volume and rebooking rate.
Athlete skill improvement and retention.
Parent feedback and referrals.
Compensation $20 - $40 hourly

We focus on developing hitters, pitchers, and position players through hitting/pitching lessons, small-group sport-specific training, and year-round access to indoor batting cages.
Our turf is used for baseball, softball, lacrosse, football, and soccer. Our batting cages can also be used for recreational use by teams or individuals.
