Salaries: Equipment Operator Trainee - $21.64 - $35.23/hr Equipment Operator - $23.85 - $38.84/hr.
Position Summary:
Under direct supervision of the Lead Equipment Operator, Manager or Superintendent, performs maintenance and repair activities, operates at least one piece of small, medium or heavy equipment, operates hand and power tools, and performs manual labor in support of streets, utilities, and solid waste activities.
Minimum Qualifications Equipment Operator Trainee
High School Diploma or GED.
Must be eighteen years of age.
Must possess, within one year of employment, and maintain a valid New Mexico CDL-B driver’s license if working in Public Works or a CDL-A if working in Utilities.
Minimum Qualifications Equipment Operator
One year of experience in the operation, servicing, and maintenance of equipment with experience in solid waste, compost system operation, utilities, pavement, or construction.
If working in Public Works, must possess, or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment, and maintain a valid New Mexico CDL-B driver’s license.
If working in Utilities, must possess, or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment, and maintain a valid New Mexico CDL-A driver’s license with air brakes and tanker endorsement.
Successful completion of the pre-employment physical exam prior to commencing work.
Successful completion of mandatory drug screening and subsequent random drug and alcohol screenings.
Preferred Qualifications
Traffic Control Specialist Certification.
