Camp Dates: Monday- Friday, June 8 – July 31, 2026 (No Camp on Friday, June 19 and Friday, July 3, 2026) TRAINING DATES:
June 1 - June 5, 2026, 9AM-4PM (schedule may vary daily) PURPOSE:
This position is responsible for maintaining a safe environment for staff, volunteers, and campers. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for planning and implementing schedules for the camp’s daily on-site activities including games, crafts, and snacks. Effectively communicates with staff, parents, and campers. Helps supervising Counselors and guide Counselors in Training (C.I.T) assigned to their group Maintains all camp equipment, supplies utilized in activities, and keeps program areas clean Administers first aid Submits all paperwork and forms in a timely manner Keeps Camp Specialist informed daily regarding the facility, staff, and campers. Escorts on field trips maintaining a safe atmosphere and ensures risk and safety management is carried out for all aspects of camp. Knows, understands, and ensures all rules and regulations of the Olivette Parks and Recreation Department and the City of Olivette, including any Summer Camp rules, policies, and guidelines are followed REPORTS TO: Summer Camp Specialist and Recreation Coordinator QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be at least 18 years of age. (2) years of leadership experience with children in a camp, classroom or coaching setting Must have knowledge and ability to run games, sports, and other outdoor activities. Ability to communicate effectively with groups of children, adults and peers. Flexible schedule for unforeseen circumstances. Must be available for all 8 weeks of camp and Training. Must pass a background check. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have the ability to lift and carry thirty (30) pounds, the ability to push or pull up to 50 pounds, and the ability to bend, squat, kneel, reach from floor level to six (6) feet in height, hold and grip objects. THE CITY OF OLIVETTE IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER #J-18808-Ljbffr
