Position Summary This is a short-term, project-based student position designed to support the UNM Health Sciences Library & Informatics Center’s broader accessibility efforts. The student employee will report to the Nursing and Allied Health Librarian and conduct audits of digital content and resources, document findings, and contribute to a final report with recommendations. The student will also help create instructional materials and a resource guide on accessibility tools for students, staff, and faculty. This is an excellent opportunity for a student to develop or expand on skills needed in the workforce related to web design, professional communication and instructional design. Job Duties
Conduct an accessibility audit of designated HSLIC webpages, digital content, and internal dashboards following WCAG standards.
Document accessibility issues, including examples and recommended improvements.
Compile audit findings into a structured written report to be shared with HSLIC staff and faculty.
Assist in creating clear documentation and support materials for JAWS, ZoomText, and other assistive technologies.
Research and assemble a resource guide of accessibility apps for personal devices.
Test assistive technologies.
Provide input on accessibility workshops, instructional materials, and related project resources.
Attend project meetings, follow established project timelines, and maintain accuracy and confidentiality in all work.
Perform other duties as required.

Interest in or experience with digital accessibility, inclusive design, or related areas.
Strong written communication skills.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
