What You'll Do The Cook works under the supervision of the Production Chef and in coordination with Sous Chefs, Kitchen Attendants, and other members of the Nutritional Services team. In this role, you’ll not only prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes, but also take patient meal orders and serve as a welcoming host/hostess to ensure a positive dining experience. You’ll balance kitchen responsibilities with direct patient interaction—making sure meals are delicious, safe, and well-presented while offering friendly, attentive service. Cleanliness, efficiency, and a genuine care for patients’ needs are at the heart of this position.
Responsibilities include meal preparation, cleaning, and customer service for kitchen and patients.
Follows recipes, documents food temperatures, and maintains stock levels.
Responsible for cleanliness of kitchen and equipment.
Relies on instructions to perform job functions.
Cross-trains with other department members.
Who We're Looking For
This role requires strong English communication skills. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous food service experience preferred.
Must obtain Food Handler Certification from an ANSI accredited program within one month of hire and maintain current status throughout GRHD employment.
What We Offer
Pay Range: $24.00 - $26.00/hour (based on experience)
Shift Differentials: $2–$4/hour for nights and weekends
