Driver - Non CDL (Transportation) Position Summary Operates a straight truck delivering lumber products and picks up credits from and to project areas. Driving to urban/rural residential and commercial locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Operates straight trucks with two or more axles.

Demonstrates safe driving skills by safely delivering various bulky and/or heavy lumber products in a timely manner in accordance with DOT regulations and damage-free.

Adheres to assigned deliveries and checks load-related documentation for completeness and accuracy.

Maintains driver forms and log (ELD) according to DOT regulations.

Maintains high activity/productivity levels while operating with a sense of urgency, efficiency, and determination.

Obtains receipts or signatures for delivered goods.

Addresses and resolves customer issues as appropriate and informs dispatch of any outstanding issues related to the customer deliveries.

Checks vehicle to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.

Reports vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations or damage to the vehicle.

Performs other duties and responsibilities as required and assigned.

Education/Experience

High School Diploma or GED.

Minimum of 1-year driving and delivery experience.

Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) experience is a plus.

Other Requirements

Must have current DOT certification and valid, unrestricted driver's license.

Must pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.

Work morning/evening hours during the week, required weekends and overtime.

Maintain regular attendance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Verbal & written communication skills and map/GPS reading abilities.

Maneuver large vehicles on highways, inter-city and traffic routes.

Ability to comply with daily changes to deliveries/schedules with a positive attitude.

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work as an individual and as a team to meet delivery goals.

Willingness to obtain other training if deemed necessary in performance of responsibilities and continuing education.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Work is performed within jobsite and yard environment subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dust.

Perform activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.

Must be able to safely squat, bend, climb, lift/carry up to 80 lbs., grasp, talk, hear, stand/walk for prolonged periods.

Reach at or above shoulder level and below waist and have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
