Pay range: $23.00/hr - $25.00/hr (based on skills and experience).
Summary:
Drives assigned company vehicles primarily to deliver lumber and building materials to customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists in loading and tie‑down of materials to be delivered.
Checks loads against the invoice to ensure product, sizes, and quantities are correct prior to leaving the yard.
Unloads product at the customer’s site manually or with forklift assistance.
Verifies product against the customer’s invoice, obtains signature when possible, and collects COD’s as needed.
Handles materials to avoid damage and prevent damage‑causing situations.
Follows all State and Federal safety laws of safe driving.
Completes all forms, reports, and truck logs as required by law or company regulations.
Complies with all DOT required testing and training regulations.
Maintains safe operation, appearance, and operational readiness of assigned vehicle, including daily servicing and maintenance (oil, tires, lights, ropes, flares).
Reports any mechanical or repair problems to the Yard Foreman.
Maintains a courteous and helpful attitude at the yard and during all deliveries, exercising caution and courtesy while driving.
Completes all deliveries promptly, efficiently, and safely.
Calls the Yard Foreman when confronted with unanticipated situations.
Reports vehicle accidents or near‑misses to the Yard Foreman.
Adheres to all safety procedures.
Follows proper procedures for inter-yard transfers.
Reports any indications of theft or bribery to foreman.
Performs yard duties when not assigned driving duties.
Maintains good housekeeping practices in assigned areas.
Displays teamwork and effort in performing all duties.
Participates in required training assignments.
Completes daily vehicle maintenance logs as needed.
Other duties may be assigned. Management reserves the right to reassign an individual in this position to another position in the interest of efficient personnel utilization.
