Position Type : Seasonal/Short Term
Salary Range : $15.00 - $18.00 Hourly

DESCRIPTION The Pool Attendant is a short term job working between the hours of 9:30am until 7:00pm and sometimes as late as 9:30pm from mid-May until early-September. The pool attendant reports directly to the Pool Manager. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for preventing accidents by following and enforcing facility rules
Responsible for rule enforcement at the top of the slide towers and all other positions
Attend and be accountable for information and procedures presented at trainings
Periodically walk through locker rooms to prevent vandalism, keep clean, etc.
Help keep deck areas clear of debris to ensure facility cleanliness
Assist in the supervision in and around the sand play area
Assist in setting up and taking down birthday parties
Assist in putting out and taking chairs from grass area each day
Follow, promote and help implement the Gurnee Park District Customer Service Standards (SOFFI)
Report any damaged, misplaced, or otherwise faulty equipment immediately
Be polite and courteous to all patrons at all times
In emergency situations, assist with crowd control, direct rescue squad and open specified gates
Read and understand the Gurnee Park Districts Personnel Policy Manual and Aquatic Manual.
Perform all other duties as assigned to the best of your ability
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform seasonal maintenance tasks to prepare the facility and area
Work on pool deck and respond more specifically to facility cleaning needs, bodily fluid cleanups, and other miscellaneous tasks to assist pool managers
Qualifications
Experience:
No prior experience necessary but customer service experience a plus.
Education:
Education not required.
Skills:
Customer service, maturity, reliable, punctual. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.
Certifications:
No certifications necessary.
Competencies:
Applicants shall show competency in the following areas: Able to supervise patrons and provide feedback to management staff as needed, readily recall details necessary to perform the job, communicate clearly through written and verbal communication, responsible, dependable, demonstrate self-confidence, work cordially with all staff and patrons, and should be motivated to succeed!
