At Ability Matters, we partner with schools and families to support students through personalized, inclusive educational services. As an RBT, you will work directly with students to support learning, independence, and confidence while helping them engage meaningfully in their school and community.

What You’ll Do
Collaborate on Student Learning:
Support lesson planning and activities aligned with Individualized Education Program goals.
Create Community-Based Learning Experiences:
Facilitate hands‑on learning opportunities inside and outside the classroom. Support students as they get involved in local activities, events, and opportunities across Columbus and beyond.
Provide Consistent Student Support:
Follow training and behavioral support plans to ensure student safety and engagement.
Maintain a Safe and Supportive Environment:
Help create structured, positive spaces that promote learning and growth.
Build Meaningful Relationships:
Partner with students, families, school staff, and the Ability Matters team to strengthen support systems.
Personalized Care & Support:
Provide person‑centered assistance tailored to each individual’s needs. Encourage independence, self‑advocacy, and belonging.
Each day brings new opportunities to make a meaningful difference in a student’s life.
What We’re Looking For
Education:
4‑year degree preferred, but not required.
Experience:
Education, childcare, or community‑based experience is helpful but not required.
Passion:
A desire to support and empower individuals with disabilities is required.
Skills:
Strong communication, problem‑solving abilities, and flexibility to support diverse needs.
Other Requirements:
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Experience is helpful. Heart, attitude, and willingness to learn matter most.
