Take the scenic route. With over 142 miles of Yellowstone's grand loop, the Transportation Department has the important responsibility of taking guests and deliveries where they need to go.
Job Summary:
The Transportation Administrative Assistant is responsible for managing fuel usage and transportation logistics, including recording fuel data, ordering supplies, and assisting with communication. It also includes maintaining logs and reports, administering timekeeping, and ensuring an organized workspace while upholding confidentiality.
The Details:
Position Type: Seasonal; Season Dates: Early April 2026 to Late October 2026; Pay: $17.50 hourly; Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays).

Responsibilities
Record and audit underground fuel storage tank usage daily; submit weekly fuel use reports
Order necessary supplies for transportation operations at Mammoth, Old Faithful, Lake, and Canyon
Assist the Dispatcher with radio communications
Collect and distribute weekly vehicle mileage logs and monthly diesel fuel logs
Manage daily KRONOS maintenance, including missed punches and gratuity entries
Maintain Transportation Department statistics; create spreadsheets and reports as needed
Prepare daily tour count reports and organize daily Vehicle Inspection Reports
Foster effective communication with departmental contacts while maintaining confidentiality and a clean work environment
Qualifications
Interpersonal and telecommunication skills
Organizational skills
Computer knowledge including MS Word, Excel and KRONOS
General office skills including typing, filing and calculator use
Workload prioritization
Effective communication skills
Ability to work with little or no supervision
Physical Requirements
Sitting for periods of 3 hours or more
Able to lift/carry up to 30 pounds
Bending, kneeling, stretching, walking and reaching
Able to climb flights of stairs multiple times per day
Ability to work in elevations exceeding 7,000 feet
