Overview
Orchard Knob Middle School is a 6-8 school located in the heart of Chattanooga, TN. At Orchard Knob Middle, we are committed to fostering academic achievement, personal growth, and community involvement. OKMS is a middle school focused on college and career readiness. Our students enjoy college visits every semester in Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama. In addition, our community partners assist us with this focus and we offer the following extracurriculars aligned with Future Ready Institutes: Culinary Club, Robotics Club, and Engineering Club. We also offer our students after school programs, athletics, an eLab (digital fabrication), and dedicated administrators.
We are looking for high energy, dedicated teachers who are experts in their content areas and who embody a growth‑mindset. Teachers who want to inspire children to be thoughtful, passionate and brave individuals. Our teachers take advantage of professional development opportunities and opportunities for growth, while our administrators work diligently to support and provide teacher voice while implementing derived feedback.

Responsibilities
Plan, deliver, and assess effective instruction aligned to Tennessee state standards
Design engaging lessons with clear objectives and measurable outcomes
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners
Collaborate regularly with colleagues and support staff
Build strong, respectful relationships with students and families
Create a well‑managed, structured classroom environment
Participate in ongoing professional development and reflection

Positive, student‑focused educators with strong content and classroom management skills
Strong communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving abilities
Committed to high expectations and academic achievement for all students
Open to feedback, coaching, and continuous growth
Experience in Title I or high‑need school settings is a plus
Passion for supporting the whole child academically and socially
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required
Valid Tennessee teaching license in Social Studies 6‑8, 6‑12 Social Studies OR current enrollment in an accredited teacher preparation program
Compensation & Additional Info:
Salary Scale based on education and experience – starting at $50,000.00
Eligible positions may qualify for additional pay under the Differentiated Compensation Plan
