Job Overview
Lial Catholic School in Whitehouse, Ohio is currently seeking a faith-filled Math teacher to teach in our Middle School Unit (Grades 6-8) for the 2026-2027 school year. Our educational philosophy is based on a multi-age approach to learning which encourages cooperation and collaboration amongst students and instills and heightens leadership qualities. Applicants will be responsible for developing differentiated lesson plans and implementing those plans in the classroom, giving the flexibility to tailor lessons to both teacher and students’ interests and strengths.
Duties
Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school.
Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
Manages student work output in the classroom and behavior on a daily basis.
Develops teaching and learning materials for use in class, including lesson plans, assessments and homework, projects, and assignments that make use of all student skills.
Uses varied assessment tools to perform both formative and summative assessments.
Modifies lesson plans and materials as needed to make them suitable for students’ current learning levels.
Monitors and tracks student progress and issues grades.
Maintains relationships with parents of students in order to keep them informed of their child’s progress.
Works collaboratively with other teachers in their unit to foster the development of the whole child.
Works collaboratively with administrators and other teachers, including special education teachers and specialists, to provide individualized support for each student on a regular basis.
Qualifications Required:
Four-year degree in Math or Math Education
Ability to teach up to High School Math
Supervised classroom experience
BCI/FBI background check
Preferred:
Catholic
Comfortable teaching High School Geometry and Above
2 or more years of teaching experience
Certification in the Science of Reading
Relevant teaching certification
