Position Overview The archery specialist co‑leads the safe implementation of the archery program for rising 4th‑7th grade campers at Camp Kingfisher. All staff at Camp Kingfisher are hired to:
Lead campers as a positive, caring role model
Provide campers with fun, positive outdoor learning experiences
Help campers grow and learn through challenges
Essential Functions
Develop and lead archery curriculum for 4th‑7th grade campers with excellence and enthusiasm
Interact and develop relationships with campers
Maintain high standards of health and safety in all activities for campers and staff
Attend weekly camp staff meetings and specialist meetings
Assist in other program areas as a substitute counselor as needed (waterfront, pool, all camp activities, and arts and crafts as directed)
Complete additional duties as assigned
Contribute to verbal/written evaluations and communication as requested
Keep track of and record hours worked, requesting director’s approval for any additional hours prior to work
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Willingness to work outdoors during the summer season
Must be able to lift over 20 pounds
Valid driver’s license or state issued ID
Skills and Qualifications
Interest and experience (preferred) in the sport of archery
Experience (and passion for) teaching or working with children
Current archery safety and teaching training, course provided
Current First Aid/CPR certification, course provided
Background in environmental education, natural history, education, childcare, or camps
Seniority Level Entry level
