Adams and Associates, Inc. is seeking a Residential Advisor to lead and support students at the Phoenix Job Corps Center. The Residential Advisor ensures a safe, positive living environment, fosters student success, and promotes a supportive community.
Responsibilities
Provide guidance to help students maintain a positive attitude and proper behavior in the dormitory living situation and achieve their goals.
Determine, recommend, and arrange student visits to the counselor.
Assist in unit activities, including unit government.
Patrol and monitor dormitories and the center, ensuring safety and resolving potential or occurring problems.
Prepare the daily operations report, pass list, and other administrative correspondence relating to students.
Direct students and assist in the cleanup and maintenance of the dormitory.
Recommend or requisition supplies needed for dorm living and student safety.
Maintain dormitory and individual student files, ensuring they are complete, updated, and contain all required documentation.
Enter student case notes in the center information system.
Participate in the career development services system by ensuring a safe living environment and modeling positive peer leadership roles.
Provide guidance, counseling, group sessions, and independent living skills training.
Work overtime as directed when necessary.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Provide positive, quality customer service to students, staff, and other center customers.
Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps Zero Tolerance Policy.
Model career success standards, mentor students, and monitor positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent (advanced degrees preferred).
At least one year of Job Corps or related program experience.
Valid in-state driver's license preferred.
Physical capability to sit, stand, climb, walk, lift, pull, push, carry, reach, stoop, and crouch; able to lift 40 pounds.
Ability to assess lift load and request assistance when necessary.
