Weekend Custodian
The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.
Roles & Responsibilities
Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule.
Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping, receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, and packaging of special and hazardous waste.
Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
Stop at risk behavior of others and self.
Perform work assignments in a team with other employees.
Perform repetitive tasks.
Maintain clean work area.
Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules.
Take direction and respond to supervision.
Talk with lead, supervisor, co‑workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner.
Fill in during staff shortage.
Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items.
Use proper personal protective equipment.
Present a professional appearance and conduct.
Understand customer service and satisfaction.
Understand reporting systems and the environment.
Education and/or Experience No specific education requirement; 3–6 months training or experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations May be required to have a valid driver’s license, complete all safety and task training certifications, and possibly be forklift certified.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bilingual is a plus.
Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and willingness to share with team.
Knowledge of the upkeep and care of cleaning equipment.
Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
Frequently required to sit and talk or listen.
Work environment may involve exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Compensation $14.50–$15.50 per hour.
Shift Saturday 10:00 am – 6:30 pm.
