Special Education Bus Aide – Transportation (Part‑time)
Uintah School District is looking for a Special Education Bus Aide to assist with the transportation of students with special needs.
Position Details:
- Up to 29.5 hours per week
- Voucher position, no benefits
- Applicants must be 21 years of age or older
Responsibilities
Work with moderately and severely handicapped students under the direction of the classroom teacher and bus driver, and transport them to job sites and community projects.
Relate positively with students, staff, parents, and community.
Successfully support students with special needs (preferred).
Lift up to 50 pounds and manage students when necessary.
Follow outlined procedures consistently and objectively.
Communicate effectively with parents, students, and other staff members.
Work independently at assigned tasks.
Perform other duties as assigned by the school administrator.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma.
Experience supervising special education students on AM & PM bus routes.
Must hold an Associate's degree or have 48 semester hours of college credit, or be willing to pass the ParaPro test immediately upon hire.
