Competitive Pay:
$50–$65 per class (typical class: 1 hour 30 minutes)
Flexible Hours:
Minimum 1 class, up to 5 classes per week, weekday afternoons (2–5 PM)
Travel Compensation:
Mileage reimbursement for trips >15 mi one way (30 mi round‑trip)
What You’ll Do
Lead engaging chess classes for 10–15 students
Use the structured curriculum to teach fundamentals and sportsmanship
Maintain a lively, positive classroom environment
Encourage problem‑solving and critical thinking
Follow school safety protocols
Travel to local schools for each session and arrive on time
What We’re Looking For
Experience working with children (teaching, tutoring, coaching, camp counseling, etc.)
Comfort leading a class independently and being upbeat, engaging, and fun
Professional, positive, kid‑friendly demeanor
Strong grasp of chess fundamentals and ability to explain them age‑appropriately
Ability to connect chess problem‑solving to real‑life challenges
Reliable personal transportation and ability to drive between locations
Availability weekdays afternoons (2–5 PM) for 1–5 classes each week
Commitment to safety protocols and student well‑being
Excellent punctuality and time‑management
