Join our after‑school enrichment program as a Chess Instructor! Teach elementary students chess, foster a positive classroom environment, and share the magic of chess. Work part‑time with flexible schedules and competitive pay.
Why Join Us?
Competitive Pay: $50–$65 per class (≈1.5 hours including setup, instruction, and cleanup)
Flexible Hours: 1–5 classes per week, weekday afternoons (2–5 PM)
Travel Compensation: Mileage reimbursement for trips over 15 miles one‑way
What You’ll Do
Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students
Use our structured curriculum to teach fundamentals and sportsmanship
Maintain a lively, positive classroom
Encourage problem‑solving, creativity, and critical thinking
Follow school safety protocols, including supervision during arrival, dismissal, and in‑class activities
Travel to various local schools for each session
Arrive on time, prepared, and ready to engage students
What We’re Looking For
Experience working with children (teaching, tutoring, coaching, camp counseling, or similar)
Comfort leading a class independently and creating interactive, friendly sessions
Professional, positive, and kid‑friendly demeanor
Genuine desire to be a positive role model and promote sportsmanship
Strong grasp of chess fundamentals – ability to explain piece movement, strategy, and tactics age‑appropriately
Ability to connect chess problem‑solving to real‑life problem‑solving
Reliable personal transportation and ability to drive between locations
Availability weekday afternoons 2–5 PM for 1–5 classes per week
Commitment to implementing school safety protocols and strong record of reliability
Strong punctuality and time‑management skills

Location Requirement: This position is based in Miami Beach/Ventura, FL. Relocation assistance is not provided. Candidates must be currently residing in the area or be willing to relocate at their own expense.
