is located at the corner of University and Mill, in Tempe’s revitalized downtown area. The hotel features 330 guest rooms, four dining outlets, a spacious pool deck, retail, and almost 36,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space with expansive views of the ASU campus and the Tempe cityscape.
Job Overview Omni Tempe Hotel at ASU
is seeking a
Host / Greeter
to join Neighborhood Services, the primary restaurant of our upscale hotel. This role is perfect for someone who is outgoing, engaging, and wants to grow in the restaurant or hotel industry. The position is part‑time, mainly PM hours, with weekend PM duties.
Responsibilities
Greet guests when entering the restaurant with a pleasant smile and superior customer service.
Seat guests using Open Table software, ensuring server rotation on seating, pulling out chairs, placing clean menu in front of guest and letting the guest know who their server will be.
Answer the phone upbeat and positive, take reservations and answer guest inquiries.
Control the pace of the restaurant through reservation times and seating.
Assign server sections, ensuring servers work different sections daily.
Monitor dining rooms for seating availability, service, safety and wellbeing of guests.
Assist servers and managers when needed.
Thank every guest upon departure, invite them to return, and wish them a fond farewell.
Notify Managers and servers of VIPs and guest notes or issues.
Attend department meetings and other required company trainings.
Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Previous experience in full service dining / upscale service preferred.
Must have strong verbal and written communication in English.
Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance.
Stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift in an indoor/outdoor environment.
This position is a part‑time, on‑site position with no work from home flexibility.
Salary is $17 / hour.
