Overview An Alarm Technician installs, maintains, repairs, and troubleshoots security and fire alarm systems for homes and businesses, working with wiring, sensors, cameras, and control panels to ensure systems meet safety codes and client needs.

Key Responsibilities

Installation:

Install new alarm systems (burglar, fire, access control, CCTV) in residential, commercial, and industrial settings, following blueprints and codes.

Wiring & Cabling:

Run and connect low‑voltage wiring and cables for sensors, cameras, and control panels.

Configuration & Programming:

Program system settings, user interfaces, and equipment to meet specific customer requirements.

Testing & Inspection:

Conduct thorough testing and signal verification to ensure systems function correctly and comply with local/national standards.

Troubleshooting & Repair:

Diagnose and fix issues with circuits, sensors, and components, often responding to emergency calls.

Maintenance:

Perform routine preventative maintenance, upgrades, and inspections on existing systems.

Client Interaction:

Explain system features, train users, provide quotes, and present a professional image.

Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of New York City, NY.

Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 – $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
