LOW VOLTAGE TECHNICIAN:

POSITION SUMMARY

The Low Voltage Technician installs, configures, tests, and maintains all Life Safety Systems including but not limited to Fire, Burglary, Surveillance Cameras, Digital Video Recorders, Access Control Systems, Intercom, Network Clocks, Freezer/Cooler Probes, Audio, Security/HVAC Pressure Sensors, all related cabling, and other systems as assigned. Effectively troubleshoots and repairs faulty equipment or conditions. Responsible for the maintenance and upgrading of all life safety systems' hardware and software. Responds to dispatched service calls in a timely manner. Reports issues requiring vendor escalation or parts/materials.

Essential Duties:-

-Inspecting electrical equipment, such as transformers, substations, and circuit breakers, to identify problems with performance

-Maintaining records of all work performed, including maintenance, repairs, and installations

-Installing electrical wiring and equipment according to building plans, blueprints, or other specifications

-Repairing electrical equipment such as lighting fixtures, fans, motors, switches, wiring, fuses, circuit breakers, and outlets

-installing and repairing security alarms, fire alarm systems, and burglar alarms

-Installing electrical wiring for new construction projects, including routing electrical cables through walls, ceilings, floors, and other surfaces

-Installing electrical equipment such as light fixtures, switches, outlets, and panel boxes

-Testing electrical equipment for safety and efficiency by measuring voltage, resistance, and amperage levels

-Troubleshooting malfunctions in electrical equipment

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

- Ability to maintain and upgrade all life safety systems ( hardware and software).

- Able to maintain an accurate inventory of all in-use life safety equipment, and maintain service records, upgrades, and warranty information.

EDUCATION:

Associate degree

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:

- Valid driver's license required. - Low Voltage license preferred. - CPTED Specialist preferred.
