The Opportunity As a One Medical Flex Lab Services Specialist / Member Support Specialist at one of our offices focused on the Senior Health member population (age 65+), you will provide an exceptional experience for patients and help them accomplish an important part of their care journey by performing venipuncture and other clinical support services. You will be the first point of contact, an ambassador for patients, and a steward of the office environment.

What You’ll Likely Work On

Use the C‑I‑CARE framework in all patient interactions, ensuring a fluid and positive in‑office experience through patient intake, schedule management, follow‑up scheduling, insurance and billing knowledge, and patient feedback monitoring.

Provide best‑in‑class venipuncture services for a population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics.

Perform extended‑scope duties such as non‑blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, vital measurements, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs.

Maintain high standards of in‑office care through proper specimen labeling, handling and processing, inventory management, and tool sterilization.

Continue to care for members beyond the lab room by answering patient messages, following up on lab cases, and assisting providers and virtual medical team with clerical duties such as biometric screening, medical record review, billing inquiries, and DOH reporting.

Handle front‑of‑house duties including check‑in/check‑out, insurance verification, printing and paperwork, prep of tests, and meet service‑level expectations.

Participate in team development through rounding, huddles, problem‑solving sessions, and supporting in‑office providers with ad‑hoc asks.

Perform opening and closing duties and daily office upkeep, maintaining the look and feel of patient and employee spaces, restocking supplies, and organization.

Master our technology suite including Slack, G‑suite, Zoom, Circulation, RingCentral, and our Electronic Medical Record System.

What You’ll Need

At least 6 months a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist outside of a training/externship environment.

Graduated from a postsecondary Medical Assistant program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES, or completed relevant Medical Assistant training by any branch of the armed forces, or possess a Medical Assistant certification issued by a certifying organization accredited by NCCA or ANSI.

Strong customer service skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective customer relationships.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Proficiency in computer technology such as typing, navigating the internet and using multiple software systems simultaneously.

Experience working on collaborative, diverse, multidisciplinary teams (remote team experience is a plus).

Proven ability to instill trust during the collection process while delivering individualized, human‑centered care.

Proven track record of persisting through change, stepping up to take action on challenges, and learning quickly and effectively when faced with new situations.

Competitive salary: starts at $23 per hour based on a full‑time schedule.

This is a full‑time role (40 hrs/week) with 8‑hr shifts generally taking place Monday–Saturday between 7:00 am–5:30 pm, based in office Kierland Commons in Scottsdale, AZ. Flex Lab Services Specialists lend support to multiple One Medical locations in a market and location; schedule is subject to change.
