Job Summary
Under the general guidance and supervision of Director of Housekeeping, the Housekeeping Supervisor oversees and coordinates the daily activities of the housekeeping staff to ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of guest rooms and public areas meet hotel standards. This role is responsible for supervising room attendants and housekeeping support staff, conducting inspections, training employees, and maintaining high levels of guest satisfaction through efficient and quality service.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Under the guidance of the Director of Housekeeping, oversees Housekeeping Department and staff
Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise, train, and motivate housekeeping staff including room attendants, public area attendants, and laundry personnel
Assign daily tasks and room cleaning schedules to ensure timely completion of work
Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms and public areas to maintain cleanliness and quality standards
Monitor staff performance and provide coaching, feedback, and corrective action as needed
Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, complaints, and service recovery issues related to housekeeping
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations
Maintain inventory control of cleaning supplies, linens, and equipment and communicate replenishment needs to management
Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and training of new housekeeping employees
Prepare daily reports on room status, productivity, and staffing levels for management review
Collaborate with Front Office and Engineering departments to coordinate room readiness and maintenance repairs
Promote teamwork, safety awareness, and a positive work environment
Participate in special cleaning projects and deep-cleaning schedules as directed
Other duties as assigned

Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and guest satisfaction
Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple priorities
Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety procedures
Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality or management coursework preferred
Minimum 2 years’ housekeeping experience in a hotel environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role preferred
