Summary Accurately and timely loads and delivers feed according to feed order directives. Delivers to individual customers as assigned by dispatcher. Determines and conveys needed repairs and/or preventative maintenance to fleet mechanics.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Ensures timely and accurate delivery of feed according to dispatcher scheduling.

Performs a pre‑trip truck inspection according to a DOT sheet, reporting any deficiencies to proper fleet mechanics.

Ensures the correct weight of feed is loaded into the truck and the truck and correct weight is delivered to the farm locations.

Accurately operates boom to cleanly direct the feed into the holding bin ensuring that feed is not spilled onto bin or ground; reports spills and problems to the Mill Manager or dispatcher.

Ensures accurate record keeping of fuel purchases, trip tickets, daily logs and timesheets.

May need to climb truck (15 ft) to direct loading and occasionally use a #5 sledgehammer to remove stuck feed as necessary.

Requirements

Minimum Education:

High School or equivalent.

Experience:

2 years of experience in a similar role, including reading, writing and math skills. Class A Commercial driver’s license required.

Preferred Experience:

None listed.

Physical and Environmental Requirements Exposed to seasonal weather or climate‑controlled conditions. Must climb trucks and use a sledgehammer. Operate loading and delivery devices, a manual truck for up to 10 hrs, and a forklift. Exposure to dust, wet floors, temperatures 28–100°F, 50–110 dB noise. Requires protective equipment as directed.
