Summary

Accurately and timely loads delivered according to feed order directives. Deliver to individual customers as assigned by dispatcher. Determine and convey needed repairs and/or preventative maintenance to fleet mechanics.

Principal And Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Ensures timely and accurate delivery of feed according to dispatcher scheduling.

Performs a pre‑trip truck inspection according to a DOT sheet, reporting any deficiencies to proper fleet mechanics.

Ensures the correct weight of feed is loaded into the truck and that the truck and correct weight is delivered to the farm locations.

Accurately operates boom to cleanly direct the feed into the holding bin, ensuring that feed is not spilled onto the bin or ground, and reports spills and problems to the Mill Manager or dispatcher.

Ensures accurate recordkeeping of fuel purchases, trip tickets, daily logs and time sheets, no hold and feed pick up.

May need to climb truck (15 ft) to direct loading and occasionally use a #5 sledgehammer to remove stuck feed as necessary.

Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Requirements

Class A CDL license

2+ years of CDL A driving, preferably delivering feed

Reading, writing and math skills

Environmental Factors And Physical Requirements

Exposed to seasonal weather temperatures, and climate, significant amounts of airborne dust.

In a stationary or moving position on a wet or moist, or dry or dusty, or dirty, or greasy floor with metal or plastic grating surface.

Must have the ability to climb stairs, upon equipment, tractor and trailer, catwalks and work from various ladders.

Noise exposure level of >110 dB.

Bending, twisting, lifting, reaching, sitting, and grasping varies in repetitions, distance, degrees, angle, weight, height, longest interval of time, objects grasped and body positions depends upon the task being performed and/or the hand tools being used.

Must be able to lift and control weights up to 10 pounds.

Must be able to bend down and maintain a kneeling position.

Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions.

Exposure to

5 PPM of ammonia vapors, caustic detergents, lubricating oils and other chemicals found in a live poultry processing operation.

May be required to wear disposable coveralls and disposable footwear covering for bio‑security purposes.

Personal protective equipment /devices as required by Perdue.
