Communities of Transformation (COT) is a holistic, relational nonprofit focused on poverty alleviation. Its mission is to move families from surviving to thriving by developing personal leadership skills and building authentic relationships. COT is a community-wide, interdenominational effort designed to change conversations about poverty, raise awareness among churches and community leaders, and break the generational grip of poverty. The VISTA members provide increased capacity to the various COT communities and statewide efforts.
Member Duties
Recruit, coordinate, and lead community volunteers, including churches, civic clubs, social service agencies, governmental entities, and individuals.
Coordinate the volunteer Leadership Team that guides the initiative.
Work with the Leadership Team to secure cash and in‑kind funding for the community site.
Recruit and coordinate referral partners that identify potential participants.
Ensure recruitment and training of both participants and volunteers.
