The East Alabama Community Development Specialist (VISTA) will focus on financial empowerment and poverty reduction, with a crucial role in designing, implementing, and overseeing programs aimed at improving economic opportunities, access to resources, and overall well‑being within the community. The VISTA will work closely with community members, local organizations, and stakeholders within Russell County, AL, Macon County, AL, and surrounding communities. The VISTA will contribute to the development and execution of strategies that address the root causes of poverty and promote sustainable solutions. The VISTA will aid in setting the foundation for reducing poverty by a 10% reduction within one year.

Member Duties
Serve as a key player in the planning, development, generation, and implementation of a critical project targeting a sensitive population of society.
Introduce our programs and services to institutions and leaders that avoid difficult topics that affect historically disadvantaged and socioeconomically deprived communities.
Examine and document trends and patterns of current research and data.
Create reports and statistical “notes” for use in marketing and social media platforms.
Identify and implement benchmarks for strategies aligned with the organization’s short‑term goals.
Establish strong relationships by understanding constituent needs, the consumer experience, and organizational capabilities.
Evaluate root‑cause indicators and develop methods to address underlying concerns.
Collaborate with other departments (Marketing, Software Development, etc.) to manage reputation, identify key players, and coordinate actions.
