New Covenant (NC) is a nondenominational church in Greenwood SC.
We just celebrated our 25th year in existence and our Senior Pastor is also the founding Pastor. Our average attendance is 750+ with around 1100 people who would consider NC their church home. Our youth group currently has around 70+ students who attend. The person selected for this position will become a part of a strong energetic and passionate team. Our previous Youth Pastor was with us for 8.5 years and did an amazing job with our youth and young adults. We (full time staff) work hard, play hard and genuinely enjoy being around each other. We're excited to bring someone on board that can grow and move forward with us!

Position Summary The Youth Pastor is responsible for leading and developing the church’s ministry to middle and high school students. This role focuses on coming along side parents to help students grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ, connecting them to the life of the church, and equipping them to live out their faith in their schools, homes, and communities. We're not looking primarily for someone who wants to "preach" but someone who loves teens and wants to do life with them.
Key Responsibilities
Provide vision, direction, and leadership for all aspects of youth ministry (grades 6–12).
Plan and lead weekly youth gatherings, Bible studies, and small groups that are Christ- centered and relevant.
Recruit, train, and mentor volunteer leaders to serve in youth ministry.
Build relationships with students and their families through discipleship, outreach, and regular communication.
Organize retreats, camps, mission trips, and service opportunities.
Partner with parents to encourage spiritual growth in their teens.
Participate in general pastoral duties and various projects as needed and directed by the Senior Pastor.
Work collaboratively with other ministry staff to align youth ministry with the overall mission and vision of the church.
Qualifications
A clear, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a strong commitment to Scripture.
Passion for relational discipling and reaching youth with the gospel.
Experience in leading or volunteering in youth ministry (2+ years preferred).
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Ability to work as part of a team and relate well to students and parents.
Bachelor’s degree in ministry or related field preferred (or equivalent experience). While a degree is helpful, we are more interested in you as a person and the experience and passion that you bring to the table.
Must be a self-starter and one who shows initiative, not just in the area of youth, but also, in any area that helps with the success of the ministry of NC.
A willingness to "do anything that needs to be done" that will benefit the ministry of New Covenant Church.
