Job Summary The Allergy Mixing Technician at AllerVie Health plays an essential role in the formulation and preparation of allergy serums to support patient treatment across clinic locations. This role is responsible for mixing serums, producing allergy schedules, and supporting clinical operations through accurate documentation, medication reconciliation, and allergy testing assistance. Operating within a collaborative, team-based environment, the Allergy Lab Technologist helps ensure high-quality patient care through precise lab work and effective communication with clinic teams.
Location 1838 Greene Tree Road Suite 260 Pikesville, MD 21208
Pay Range Starting pay is $21 an hour, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
Formulate and mix allergy immunotherapy serums according to provider instructions and established protocols.
Create and document allergy schedules, vial labels, and extract bottles accurately.
Prepare billing slips and verify insurance information as needed for immunotherapy treatments.
Assist with preparing skin testing and intradermal trays for allergy testing.
Record and monitor refrigerator temperatures and ensure lab compliance with storage standards.
Maintain clear, timely communication with the clinic manager and other staff regarding supplies, documentation, and serum-related issues.
Document all clinical and lab activities accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and HPAC systems.
Support medication reconciliation and patient history documentation when needed.
Adhere to all safety, quality, and compliance procedures.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned to support clinical operations.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical setting (MA, LPN, or RN); allergy or immunotherapy experience strongly preferred.
Proficient in allergy serum formulation, mixing, and sterile technique (training provided if needed).
Familiarity with EMR systems and basic medical billing workflows is a plus.
Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management, multitasking, and communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel).
Preferred Skills & Experience
Background in allergy/immunology, immunotherapy, or chronic disease management.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of standing and working in a clinical lab environment.
Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
Manual dexterity required for serum mixing and labeling tasks.
