Job Summary:

Full‑time Registered Nurse – Allergy at our Freehold Allergy Office. The RN‑Allergy will provide a high level of general care, vial mixing, administering allergy shots, and educating patients to promote the goal of the Ultimate Patient Experience. Allergy experience strongly preferred, but not required.

Schedule:

Full time, 30+ hours. Availability Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays within operating hours of 7:00 am – 7:30 pm. Open flexibility to help cover in a team environment is needed.

Registered Nurse – Allergy

Promote a professional and welcoming atmosphere to enhance the quality of service and care.

Provide general care and education to patients in accordance with OSHA regulations. Administer prescribed testing (including skin prick testing and intradermal testing), medications and treatments.

Maintain immunotherapy room with necessary supplies and materials; ensure cleanliness.

Administer allergy shots and ensure provider is on site.

Observe, record and report patients’ vitals and reactions to treatments.

Assess patients’ needs and suggest solutions to patient care problems.

Supervise triaging of patient communications (through email and/or portal).

Maintain accurate patient records, document all visits in EMR.

Ensure patient stays for required observation time after injections.

Learn and perform immunotherapy vial mixing procedures and proper documentation in accordance with current regulations.

React appropriately in patient reaction situations, inform physician and/or other clinical staff as necessary to mitigate adverse reactions.

Assist provider in recording prescribed treatments, medications, lab requisitions, prescriptions, prior authorization (including biologics), obtaining consents, and procedures within established guidelines.

Understand provider‑to‑patient flow and anticipate provider’s next steps to the best of your ability.

Demonstrate clinical competence and sound knowledge base in provision of quality patient care.

Ensure allergy test sets and emergency kits are filled, current, and up to date.

Confirm that insurance benefits have been verified prior to preparation of allergy serums.

Serve as a role model and consultant to staff.

Regularly interact with physicians and other providers and staff to identify and resolve problems.

Maintain knowledge of trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate articles, journals, and related materials; attend seminars and conferences as needed.

Report improperly operating medical equipment and instruments to supervisor.

Perform inventory responsibilities, including but not limited to ordering and stocking of supplies and equipment as requested.

Attend all in‑house training and continued education opportunities.

Other duties as assigned by the supervisor on an as‑needed basis.

Qualifications

Minimum 1–3 years of experience

Allergy experience strongly preferred

Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing required

Pass the NCLEX‑RN or state‑approved comparison exam

Active Registered Nurse license in the appropriate state

CPR and AED certifications required

Experience using EMR software and patient scheduling systems

Must be computer savvy and familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

Excellent patient relations and customer service skills

Open availability to work during weekdays

Working knowledge of HIPAA & OSHA compliance

Salary Range: $73,600 – $92,000
