Overview We are seeking a creative and experienced Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for preparing a wide variety of desserts, pastries, and other sweet treats. You will collaborate with our kitchen staff to create unique and delicious desserts that satisfy our customers' cravings.
Responsibilities
Develop and prepare a wide variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods.
Create new recipes and innovate on existing ones to keep the dessert menu fresh and exciting.
Ensure all pastry and dessert items are prepared and presented according to company standards.
Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized workstation adhering to food safety standards.
Train and supervise junior pastry staff members.
Collaborate with the culinary team on menu planning and special events.
This posting is for both Southerleigh Fine Food & Brewery and Brasserie Mon Chou Chou.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a prep cook preferred.
Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Baker, or relevant role in a similar environment.
In-depth knowledge of pastry and dessert techniques, ingredients, and flavors.
Creative and innovative approach to pastry and dessert creation.
Strong organizational and leadership skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
Certification from a culinary school or equivalent work experience.
Attention to detail.
Teachable.
ServeSafe or Food Handler’s certification (or willingness to attain).
Effective communication skills.
Ability to lift 30+ lbs.
Ability to work standing for 8+ hours.
