About Our Agency South Carolina ETV (SCETV) is the state's public educational broadcasting network. SCETV amplifies South Carolina voices, provides educational experiences, and strengthens communities while working to create a stronger, more connected, and informed South Carolina. SCETV provides national and local content to classrooms via internet services Knowitall.org and PBS Learning Media. SCETV also provides teacher training and re-certification in face‑to‑face and online settings.

Job Purpose Under limited supervision of the Chief Technology Officer, plans and directs the administrative support activities of the Engineering and IT departments, including preparing and maintaining records required by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Federal Aviation Administration, and the agency inventory system, coordinating purchasing and procurement activities, and delivering high‑level customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Job Duties

Plan and organize routine administrative activities of the Engineering & IT Departments, including screening calls, processing incoming and outgoing mail, managing calendars, and maintaining files.

Arrange travel and meeting logistics for Engineering & IT personnel.

Regularly review and update records required by the FCC and the South Carolina Department of Administration; maintain FCC Public Inspection File online and in paper form.

Prepare and submit non‑technical reports such as FCC Ownership, Annual Employment, etc., and communicate with outside counsel and staff to complete required reports.

Report and follow‑up on problems to Maintenance, Master Control, and IT; provide liaison between engineering personnel, supervisors, other ETV staff and the public as necessary.

Provide customer service by answering trouble calls from viewers/listeners and forwarding calls requiring follow‑up to appropriate staff; keep records of correspondence.

Coordinate and assist with purchasing and procurement processes for the departments, entering shopping cart requests in the South Carolina Enterprise Information System (SCEIS), monitoring the shopping cart process, forwarding vendor purchase orders, and completing goods receipts.

Utilize Microsoft Excel to track and monitor departmental budgets and for various projects.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Technology Officer.

Qualifications

High‑school diploma and work experience directly related to the area of employment; a bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the related work experience.

Associate degree and 5 years of experience in a clerical/office management setting or bachelor’s degree and two years of experience, or any combination of the above.

Driving Record If this position requires the applicant to possess a valid driver’s license to operate a state vehicle or personal vehicle, any applicant being considered in the final stages of selection for the position will be required to provide a certified copy of a 10‑year driving record.
