Assistant Football Coach – Offensive Coordinator / QB Coach Reports To: Head Football Coach and Director of Athletics.

Job Summary The Assistant Football Coach (Quarterbacks Coach/Offensive Coordinator) will assist the Head Football Coach in all aspects of operating a successful football program. Responsibilities include recruiting and retaining qualified student-athletes; assisting with practice planning, training sessions, game preparation, and game‑day coaching; supporting the academic progress of student-athletes; and managing assigned program and game‑day operations. This individual will also assume additional responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

Lawrence is a member of NCAA Division III and competes in the Midwest Conference, Northern Collegiate Hockey Association, and Midwest Fencing Conference. The University sponsors 24 varsity sports and supports approximately 425 scholar‑athletes, promoting excellence in both academic and athletic pursuits.
Responsibilities
Plan and direct athletics skill development for student‑athletes.
Recruit high‑caliber student‑athletes compatible with Lawrence University’s mission and the specific goals of the football program.
Assist in advising a diverse community of student‑athletes and staff on applicable NCAA, MWC, and football‑specific rules, regulations, and University policies and ensure compliance of such regulations.
Assist the Head Coach in reviewing practice and game video.
Monitor student‑athlete academic performance and implement team, athletics department, and university measures to support their academic performance.
Meet regularly with student‑athletes about academics and other matters pertaining to their enrollment and educational progress.
Ensure appropriate safety measures are observed when conducting team activities.
Cooperate with the University Athletic Trainers to ensure student‑athletes receive proper medical and physical training services.
Coordinate all activities in preparation for scheduled competition.
Attend all team practices and home and away contests.
Assume responsibility for student‑athlete compliance with all applicable rules and regulations.
Attend appropriate athletics departmental staff meetings.
Serve as a game‑day manager.
Minimum Requirements
Successful coaching experience.
Experience recruiting at the college level.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Master’s degree preferred.
First aid and AED certification needed prior to conducting athletics‑related activities.
Must have successful completion of criminal and MVR background check, meet University Authorized Driver Policy requirements, and favorable completion of reference checks.
