What You'll Do
Safely operate commercial vehicles, including tractor‑trailers, roll‑off trucks, and lugger trucks in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
Load and secure scrap metal materials onto the truck, ensuring proper weight distribution and safe transportation.
Plan and follow designated delivery routes, considering traffic conditions, road closures, and the most efficient paths to minimize travel time.
Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on the vehicle, reporting any issues promptly to the maintenance department.
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Complete all necessary paperwork, such as delivery logs, bills of lading, and other documentation required for the delivery and receipt of scrap metal materials.
Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers and clients during pickups and deliveries.
Handle scrap metal materials in an environmentally responsible manner, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
Maintain effective communication with dispatch and operations teams to ensure the efficient execution of deliveries and pickups.
Minimum Qualifications
Valid CDL (Class A) with a clean driving record.
2‑5 years of commercial driving experience.
Experience pulling doubles is a plus but not required.
Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and safety procedures.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Ability to lift and move heavy materials.
Ability to strap own load.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Work Schedule
Five days a week, day shift, Monday through Friday. Weekends off for a work‑life balance.
