Weekend Receptionist – Bilingual (Spanish & English) – Nursing Home
Alameda Center For Rehabilitation & Healthcare, a 250‑bed nursing facility in Perth Amboy, is hiring a weekend receptionist (Saturday & Sunday, 8 am‑4 pm). The position is available at $17 per hour and requires excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask. Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
Compensation Base Pay Range: $17.00/hr – $17.00/hr (actual pay based on experience). Rate: $17 per hour.

Position Summary The receptionist manages the switchboard and paging system, answers all incoming calls, redirects them as needed, greets visitors, provides directions to residents and staff, and supports clerical activities.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Prepare timecards and distribute to appropriate departments.
Collate medical charts.
Order supplies in accordance with procedures and budget allocations.
Compile reports and type general or technical material.
Maintain current lists of residents, telephone numbers, department extensions, physician kardex, and mail cards.
Coordinate outgoing and incoming mail to the facility.
Ensure that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate environment that respects individual needs and rights.
Perform other duties as requested.
Education / Vocational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; college/business coursework preferred.
Experience with medical terminology is preferred.
Must be able to read, write and understand English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Job Skills
Strong organizational skills.
Ability to handle a variety of assignments of moderate complexity.
Ability to interpret and apply departmental procedures.
Present a well‑groomed, professional image and be courteous and tactful at all times.
Ability to operate a typewriter and/or computer.
Show discretion with confidential information.
Have a pleasant and professional phone manner.
Positive interaction with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and the public.
Well‑developed verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently, problem‑solve and make decisions as necessary.
Provide annual verification of negative TB skin test.
Related Duties
Interact with residents, families, visitors and employees.
Carry out other tasks as requested where hands‑on intervention may be required.
