Job Summary Conduct research on Alzheimer's disease, neuropsychiatric disorders, and the microbiome using transgenic mouse models in Seo laboratory (https://sites.google.com/view/the-seo-laboratory). Feed special diets, perform drug treatment and behavioral test to mice. Develop hypotheses to be tested and ways of testing it. Perform a standardized protocol collecting mouse specimens including brain and other peripheral organs, preparing these samples for histology and molecular/biochemical analysis. Perform stereotactic surgery. Perform a variety of complex chemical, biological, cytologic, microscopic, histologic, surgical, statistical/computational and dissection procedures. Primary cell culture, histology, and imaging of mouse nervous system tissue. Managing transgenic mouse colony and performing small animal surgical and behavioral procedures. Identify and implement experimental and analytical pipeline improvements and refinements. Contribute to manuscript and grant preparation by providing figures, methods, and technical expertise.

Responsibilities

Conduct research on Alzheimer's disease, neuropsychiatric disorders, and the microbiome using transgenic mouse models.

Perform drug treatment and behavioral tests on mice.

Develop hypotheses and methods for testing.

Collect mouse specimens including brain and peripheral organs following a standardized protocol, and prepare samples for histology and molecular/biochemical analysis.

Perform stereotactic surgery and a variety of complex chemical, biological, cytologic, microscopic, histologic, surgical, statistical/computational, and dissection procedures.

Primary cell culture, histology, and imaging of mouse nervous system tissue; manage transgenic mouse colony and conduct small animal surgical and behavioral procedures.

Identify and implement experimental and analytical pipeline improvements and refinements.

Prepare and submit research papers; contribute to manuscript and grant preparation with figures, methods, and technical expertise.

Mentor junior lab members and promote a collaborative, high‑performance lab culture.

Follow instructions from the principal investigator, design research protocols, and manage data collection and verification.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area.

Experience in research, basic science or a clinical setting, particularly clinical trials research.

Minimum of two years of applicable experience.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Detail‑oriented with strong multi‑tasking, prioritization and organizational skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Willingness and ability to work with research animals.

Shift / Salary / Benefits Shift: Days, Monday‑Friday. Pay Band: B6. Salary commensurate with qualifications within the established range (generally minimum‑midpoint). Recruitment Period: Until Filled.
