POSITION SUMMARY
Supervisor is responsible for overseeing security officers and ensuring secure routine patrol and access control functions. The supervisor plans, schedules, assigns, reviews, and manages field or office operations for assigned shifts; coordinates investigations, patrol, traffic, and administrative duties; maintains a good working relationship with the client. This position requires day and night shift work.
PAY TRANSPARENCY/COMPENSATION $30.00/hour
RESPONSIBILITIES
Reports to the contract manager
Make critical decisions independently
Oversight of shift security guards
Communicate with facility representatives/customer
Patrol facilities and report all security or safety deficiencies
Conduct timed patrol tours and special signoffs as directed
Respond to alarms and unauthorized access events
Supervise and enforce access and property control policies at all gates and lobbies
Maintain weapons qualification (sidearm and rifle) and currency semi‑annually
Provide first aid, CPR, and assist during emergencies as necessary
Ensure safety requirements compliance and safe work practices
Occasional travel and willingness to work rotating shifts
Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing stairs, and extended standing and walking; 90% of work requires physical activity
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
US Citizen required with a valid social security card
Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
Possess at least one of the following experience/education criteria:
Minimum of three years armed guard experience within the past five years
Three years of military or National Guard service
Successful completion of a state‑certified law enforcement education and training or police officer’s standard training course
Applicant must possess at least 3 years of demonstrated experience and knowledge of law enforcement or security methodologies
Eight years of practical experience in Law Enforcement and/or Military Special Operations preferred
Applicant must possess a Texas Department of Public Safety (TXDPS) Armed Security Officer license or meet requirements that reasonably assure a TXDPS Armed License can be obtained and maintained
Applicants must successfully complete the American Red Cross First Aid/CPR & AED Instructor Certification Course
Possess a valid state driver's license
Successful completion of Security Guard Officer Training and certification(s)
Maintain an 80% firearms qualification (score of 240 or higher out of 300) with both side arm and long rifle on a standard security/police officer training firearm qualification course(s) semi‑annually
Maintain security guard certifications in accordance with state or federal requirements
Strong writing and oral communication skills; ability to prepare detailed written reports
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Pass background investigation, physical, drug, and psychological screening; no legal disqualifiers to possess firearms; meet U.S. Government suitability requirements
Effective in oral and written communication with all levels of the organization
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time and multiple priorities
Problem‑solving skills with an analytical thought process
Adaptability to rapidly changing environments
Support safety programs and participate in quality and process improvement programs
Must be able to wear protective body armor as part of the duty uniform
Permitted exposure to changing temperatures and weather conditions both internal and external
Conduct foot patrols and respond to alarms in varied weather; 90% of work requires physical activity
