Location: Charleston, SC
Summary
Provide first response to emergencies, enforce federal law and assimilated state law, and conduct mobile patrols.
Pipeline position: proactively building a talent pool for future opportunities; no immediate opening at this time.
Responsibilities
Provide access control, traffic control and conduct walking and motorized armed security functions.
Conduct personnel, vehicular, building, & facility checks and package & parcel inspections.
Must be able to work flexible hours to include weekends and holidays if needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Two years of service in the United States Armed Services (including Reserve or National Guard), OR
Any combination of two years of experience in physical security (as a security officer - armed or unarmed) and service with the United States Armed Services (including Reserves or National Guard), OR
Associate's degree in a Security or Law Enforcement related field, OR
Successful completion of a police officer’s basic training academy.
Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
Must meet or exceed the Minimum Medical and Physical Standards for an Armed Security Officer as outlined in Interagency Security Committee best practices.
Must satisfactorily qualify with a 9 mm semi-auto pistol handgun and M4 semi-automatic rifle, and shotgun qualification course administered by the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) quarterly.
Must complete and successfully pass the FLETC Active Shooter Threat Training Program (ASTTP).
The PAT requirements are in accordance with Department of Homeland Security Federal Protective Services requirements.
Must satisfactorily pass initial and random drug testing.
Must satisfactorily pass initial psychological testing.
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work... background check for convictions of crimes against household members and domestic violence.
Estimated Salary/Wage Up to USD $26.22/Hr.
