Resident Assistant (Aide)

Full time, evening shift.

Location: Marjorie Doyle Rockwell Center — a memory care assisted living community that cares for residents with mild to moderate dementia. The center has a maximum of 51 residents and offers a small, home‑like environment with expansive outdoor space.

Position Summary The Resident Assistant (RA) is a caregiver who provides assistance to residents under the supervision of an LPN or RN. The RA delivers compassionate care attentive to each resident’s needs, values, and wishes.

Responsibilities

Support the Vision, Mission, and Values of the organization and adhere to the Code of Conduct.

Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility) in a compassionate manner.

Assist with medications as needed and monitor resident safety, reporting changes to the LPN.

Encourage independence and dignity, building meaningful relationships and anticipating resident needs.

Help with light housekeeping and meal service to maintain a safe, clean living space.

Participate in team meetings and collaborate with coworkers and supervisors.

Promote a warm, friendly, and respectful environment.

Education & Experience

Must possess patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others.

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Previous experience in senior care, health care, or assisted living preferred but not required.

Must Be Able To

Follow care plans and safety protocols.

Work with computers, including electronic health records and email.

Have adequate physical, visual, and auditory ability for resident care.

Maintain composure and positivity in a high‑stress environment.

Promote the physical, cognitive, and psychosocial well‑being of each resident.

Work with residents in a highly personal manner during all stages of illness.

Pay Range $16.70 – $20.36 per hour, based on experience, skills, and education.
